Associate Dean of the Faculty of Science at Monash University visited the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

On April 19th, 2018, Prof. Antonio Patti, associate dean of the Faculty of Science at Monash University and Dr. Susie Ho, course coordinator of Master program, visited SCCE and had in-depth exchanges on international cooperation between the two sides with Prof. Sixun Zheng, associate dean of SCCE.



During the meeting, Prof. Patti said that the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Chemical Engineering of Monash University would promote "2+2" bachelor's degree program jointly and enhance cooperation with SCCE on double-degree programs including Master and PhD of Chemistry. He also proposed the exchange program for undergraduates. Prof. Zheng responded that SCCE would help promote "2+2" bachelor's degree program and was willing to receive semester-exchange students from Monash University. The two sides also discussed how to operate double degree program on Master and PhD of Chemistry.


Monash University, located in the second largest city of Australia Melbourne, is a prestigious research-intensive university, which ranks 60th on the QS World University Ranking. So far Monash University and SCCE have jointly set up "2+2" double-bachelor-degree program on Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Undergraduates who participate in the program will spend two years at SJTU and Monash respectively. Those who successfully complete the whole curriculum will receive two Bachelor’s  degrees awarded by SJTU and Monash.
