个人简介
Gustavo Fernández is a Professor of Organic and Supramolecular Chemistry at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster since 2015, where he heads a research group working on self-assembled π-systems. His research primarily focuses on understanding the mechanistic aspects involved in the supramolecular polymerization of functional metal-containing and BODIPY-based systems.
报告摘要
Artificial matter has been recently classified in four categories depending on its level of complexity: structural, responsive, adaptive and intelligent. While structural and responsive matter are state-of-the-art in the literature, rationalizing the origin of adaptive behavior is challenging. In this presentation, self-assembly and different stimuli will be combined to achieve adaptive supramolecular materials that can change their properties in response to external triggers, such as light irradiation and acid/pH. These results help to clarify the differences between the concepts of responsiveness and adaptation, key elements of intelligent matter.
