报告人简介
Professor Tomoki Ogoshi earned his Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from Kyoto University under the mentorship of Prof. Yoshiki Chujo (2002–2005). Subsequently, he served as a JSPS Research Fellow at Osaka University, working under the guidance of Prof. Akira Harada (2005–2006). His career progressed with roles at Kanazawa University, starting as an Assistant Professor, advancing to Associate Professor (2006–2010, and 2010–2015, respectively), and later assuming the position of Professor (2015–2017). His contributions extended globally during a visiting professorship at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands (2017–2018). Professor Ogoshi's expertise led him to the WPI Nano Life Science Institute at Kanazawa University and eventually to his current roles as JST-CREST Director and Professor at Kyoto University in the Department of Synthetic Chemistry and Biological Chemistry (2019–present). He also holds a position as a Specially Appointed Professor at the WPI Nano Life Science Institute, continuing his influential work across multiple institutions (2019–present).
报告摘要
Macrocyclic compounds are key players in supramolecular chemistry because of their beautiful shape, nano-scale size and molecular recognition ability. In 2008, we reported a new class of macrocyclic hosts named “pillar[n]arenes”. They have unique symmetrical pillar structures due to their para-bridge linkage. We synthesized various supramolecular assemblies based on the polygonal tubular structures of pillar[n]arenes. In this lecture, chirality control, memory and amplification systems based on the dynamic planar chirality of pillar[n]arenes are also discussed.
