On March 15, 2018, Dr. Ulrich KÜSTHARDT, CIO of Evonik Industries, and the Evonik delegation visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Prof. Lifeng XI, vice-president of SJTU, received the visitors. The two sides signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on Minhang campus. The ceremony was hosted by Prof. Weidong LI, deputy dean of SJTU’s Research Management Division.  

In the afternoon, Dr. Ulrich KÜSTHARDT gave a lecture titled Leading Innovation in the lecture hall of the school library, which was hosted by Prof. Xinyuan ZHU, dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. 

Evonik Industries is one of the world’s leading specialty chemicals companies, which represents appealing business and innovation strength. SJTU is the first strategic cooperative university of Evonik Industries in Asia. The two sides signed the first and the second round of cooperation agreements in 2012 and 2014 respectively.
